Our Practice

Barbara Gerk, PT

I am a licensed Physical Therapist with great experience in the outpatient setting.  Formerly, I worked in a private practice outpatient clinic and fully enjoyed all aspects of that setting.  When my daughter was born, I realized the need for this fabulous job to be closer to home.    As a resident of Crete, I am excited to open Independence Physical Therapy here in town, and to serve this community.    I earned a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2001 from Governors State University.  Previously, I earned a Bachelor degree from GSU, and attended South Suburban College for undergraduate coursework.  It is my goal to create the most optimal physical therapy clinic in the area by providing excellent care to patients, and by upholding the ideals of the American Physical Therapy Association.  My interests beyond the clinic include enjoying time with my wonderful family, as well as camping, canoeing, and baking.

Daniel Gerk, PT

I earned my Bachelor degree in Kinesiology from University of Illinois at Chicago and my Master of Physical Therapy degree from Governors State University. I have been practicing since 2002 in orthopedics as well as geriatrics. I believe in using evidence based practice to design rehabilitation programs that meet the needs of my patients. My other interests include hunting, fishing, and enjoying other outdoor activities with my family.
